R&R

Well, a few days ago, my boyfriend told me he wasn't on the R&R list for August, which is a little disappointing, because I had started to anticipate seeing him towards the end of the month. However, he should get leave in September, and the bright side of it all is the later he comes, the less time I have to wait to see him again at the end of the deployment.

Also, I am just really thankful I can see him at all.

I know it's awful to watch everyone else come home, but trust me -- as one whose husband came home in the third to last group, at nine months -- it makes the rest of the deployment go that much faster. If you can wait it out now, you'll be better off!

The burps are a constant - his "home for good" time will probably change around a little too, having to do with flights and all.

Hubby wanted chocolate covered strawberries when he got home, and I ate so many I can't even look at the things now. I had to keep eating the ones I had prepared the day before so they didn't go bad when his arrival date was pushed back.

Totally worth it, though. Mmmmm, white chocolate.....

It's so hard when the date gets moved up. Even if you think you're ok with it, it messes with your head. But you will see him soon, and hey, September's just around the corner!

Enjoy your time in Kauai!

Awww, sorry his wasn't on the list this time. I feel you on wanting to see, but it will work in the end I promise.

The hubby already warned me that he's being pushed back. Everyone wants to go at the 6 month mark. I am proud of my hubby for insisting that anyone who has kids or a new born go before he does. He doesn't want special treatment and knows that eventually he will get here.

Oh man. I'm really sorry he got bumped... although I can see the positives too! I just got an email from my son - he will be home in mid-August on leave. He only just got it nailed down for sure.

Then he proceeds to tell me that it's okay if I can't meet him at the airport!!! Like anything else takes precedence... sheesh!
