The Damning Truth

In his movie An Inconvenient Truth Al Gore enlightens us mere peons on how to live more responsibly with regards to energy consumption. Turns out that he is more of a “do as I say, not as I do” type of person. How surprising.

This article is certainly quite damning to Gore, showing him to be pretty hypocritical. And the author sums it up pretty well:

The issue here is not simply Gore's hypocrisy; it's a question of credibility. If he genuinely believes the apocalyptic vision he has put forth and calls for radical changes in the way other people live, why hasn't he made any radical change in his life?

Having lived through earlier incarnations of "the sky is falling" from these kind of people... I am simply amazed that anyone even listens to this man. The agenda (incase anyone hasn't figured it out) is money - getting environmental issues funded - whether it makes any sense or not.

Back when I was a kid - the predictions were... by the year 2000, we would be in a nuclear winter because the next ice age was coming thanks to pollution. We would have so much over population that people would be starving to death. We would be nearly out of usable soil, clean water, oil... just list the litany of today.

When grandiose predictions are made... the point is always to get more money for a particular cause - and to put certain large corporations out of business or to penalize them. The "facts" as presented never pan out as predicted.

So, when Al opens his mouth, put your hand on your wallet.

I like to listen to what that Give Me a Break guy on 20/20 says about the environment. I know we're not doing it good with emissions from our vehicles etc. but I don't think the sky is falling either. I guess I have more important things on my mind...

Hmmmm... This sort of reminds me of Roseanne Arnold's psychobabbling hysteria regarding gun control. Little miss piggy sure could huff and puff anti-gun rhetoric and put pressure on the NRA... Ironically it turns out that she demands that her children's bodyguard be armed with...you guessed it.
What is up with these people, anyway?
